Mist Trail to Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall

The Mist Trail is a popular hiking trail in Yosemite National Park that leads to Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall.

The trail starts at the Happy Isles trailhead and climbs steeply through granite cliffs and dense forests, offering stunning views of the Merced River and the surrounding valley. As hikers ascend the trail, they will first reach Vernal Fall, a 317-foot waterfall that cascades over granite cliffs and creates a misty spray. Continuing on the trail, hikers will reach the top of Vernal Fall and then a steep set of stairs that lead to the top of Nevada Fall, a 594-foot waterfall that is one of the most spectacular in the park.

The trail is considered strenuous and can take several hours to complete, but the views along the way and at the falls are well worth the effort.
