Limits

TouchTrails uses a tile pack system to manage offline regions. Understanding these limits helps you plan and manage your offline areas efficiently.

Tile Pack Limit

You can store up to 750 unique tile packs across all your offline regions.

Efficient Use of Tile Packs

Overlapping offline regions may require fewer tile packs than the sum of each region individually.
Because overlapping areas share tile packs, it’s sometimes possible to cover more map area than expected before reaching the limit.

Extending Tile Pack Capacity

If you reach the 750 tile pack limit and need more offline regions, you must delete existing offline regions to free up tile packs again (see Delete Offline Regions).

How Tile Packs Are Calculated

Tile packs do not correspond to individual map tiles.
Instead, each tile pack contains data for multiple zoom levels bundled together in one efficient package.

Think of a tile pack as a neatly organized folder that contains all necessary map information for several zoom levels of a specific area.
Because data is grouped intelligently, fewer tile packs are needed compared to counting every single tile separately.

This system helps:

  • reduce storage usage

  • improve offline performance

  • speed up loading

Even though tile packs may seem abstract, they are designed for optimal performance and efficient offline usage in TouchTrails.
